
Shamil Chandaria – Non-Executive Chairman, Omnifone
Dr Shamil Chandaria is Non-Executive Chairman of Omnifone's Board of Directors. Dr Chandaria is also Group Chairman and Partner of Amplitude Capital, winner of the HFR award for best European managed futures hedge fund in 2007 and 2009 Barron's Hedge Fund 100. He is also Chairman and partner of Ocean Capital - a structured asset finance company. Dr Chandaria has a portfolio of several technology companies including: IP-Only, a telecom operator in Sweden with a fibre network around Scandinavia. Dr Chandaria was previously a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank for eight years where he ran Structured Capital Markets and DB Investor where he managed a $25bn portfolio of the Bank's proprietary holdings. Before that he was a director at Barclays Capital.
Shamil has a PhD in Financial Economics the London School of Economics, an MA in Philosophy from University College London and a BA in Economics and Natural Sciences from Cambridge University where he was a senior scholar. Shamil is an honorary research fellow at the Institute of Philosophy, School of Advanced Study, London University.
Rob Lewis – Executive Chairman
Rob Lewis is Executive Chairman of Omnifone, responsible for high level global relationships with the company's key stakeholders. An Omnifone co-founder and CEO for the past six years, Lewis is a 2009 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year and was named PwC UK Technology, Innovation & Growth Awards Entrepreneur of the Year in 2008. Rob was also named a Mobile Entertainment magazine Top 50 mobile content executive and a Mobile magazine Power 50 executive in 2008, as well as a Billboard magazine Top 10 Mobile Music Executive in 2007.
Rob previously founded Business & Technology Magazine (sold to Dennis Publishing) and along with Omnifone co-founders Phil Sant and Mark Knight, founded the successful internet software developer Cromwell Media (sold to InterX for £850m in March 2000) and was founder CEO of Silicon.com (sold to NASDAQ-listed CNET Networks) and its sister companies Paris-based Silicon.fr and Munich-based Silicon.de.
Jeff Hughes – Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Jeff Hughes is responsible for the global expansion of Omnifone's cloud based digital music services, joining the company's board as CEO in April 2010. Jeff previously held the positions of Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer at BSkyB, one of the most successful subscription businesses in the world, where he was a member of the company's executive management group. He has also held senior positions at IBM, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Cambridge Technology Partners and Andersen Consulting.
Phil Sant – Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Phil Sant is COO and co-founder of Omnifone. Sant has a long history of successful entrepreneurship in the technology sector. Starting his career at Rolls Royce, where he headed the development of pioneering computer aided manufacturer design software, he has continued to be at the forefront of cutting edge innovation systems design for 20 years. With Knight he ran the former Compaq Tiger Team and was later co-founder of Cromwell Media, which was sold in March 2000 for £850m. In June 2000, Sant won the prestigious Ernst & Young UK Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Technology & Communications and in 2008 was Oracle Magazine Editor’s Choice Award’s Embedded Architect of the Year with Omnifone co-founder Mark Knight.
Mark Knight – Chief Architect
Mark Knight is Chief Architect and co-founder of Omnifone. Over the past 25 years, Knight has pioneered several major new technologies and products within the software marketplace. He authored Jotter, the world's first ever commercial word processor for a portable device and has developed world-leading software within the flight simulation, communication, finance, and publishing and distribution sectors. Knight was formerly a member of Compaq's Tiger Team and was the Chief Architect at online specialist Cromwell Media. Knight, with Sant, was Oracle Magazine Editor’s Choice Awards 2008 Embedded Architect of the Year.
Matthew Bagley – Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Matthew Bagley is responsible for finance at Omnifone, having joined the company’s board in 2009 as Chief Financial Officer. Bagley’s background is in software and technology companies. He was previously Chief Financial Officer of an AIM listed software company which developed a range of technologies across the document management, text analytics and data replication markets. Bagley was also European Finance Director of visual display technology manufacturer ViewSonic, responsible for operations across EMEA generating $374 million in annual sales. Prior to that, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers for nine years, four years of which in the United States.
James White – Commercial Director
James White is responsible for overseeing all commercial and licensing matters at Omnifone having joined the company’s board in mid 2006. White was previously Finance Director at the legendary Island Records. Following its sale to Universal Music Group, James was one of the shining stars at Universal, the world's largest music label. White has been focused on digital music since the very beginning, particularly whilst in his role as Planning and Analysis Director of Universal Music. White was also Financial Controller at Polydor Records and started his career as a Chartered Accountant at PwC.
Steve Pocock – Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Steve Pocock joined Omnifone in 2003 and as CTO runs the company’s Research & Development arm after working with Omnifone’s founders at InterX. Pocock has been at the forefront of software engineering for over a decade, having worked on advanced projects for the Ministry of Defence, and several Cambridge and Silicon Valley-based internet start-ups. At graphics software firm GDS, Pocock led the development of complex raster and satellite imaging functionality for the company's industry leading vector graphics CAD/GIS product. In the mid-90s, Pocock worked at Cambridge start-up Persimmon IT, aiding the development of multiple early stage internet technologies. Pocock is an Astronomy and Physics graduate from University College London.
David Loiterton – Managing Director, Asia Pacific
David Loiterton heads up the commercialisation of Omnifone’s services across Asia Pacific. David is one of the most experienced entertainment executives in Asia, with 20 years in artist management, recorded music, music publishing, live entertainment, marketing and A&R, online & mobile entertainment, and video games. Originally a Sydney-based lawyer, Loiterton worked in artist management with superstar artist INXS for 7 years in the mid-80's, helped set up and then ran rooArt Records, Australia's premier independent record label in the early 90's, and built BMG's Asia Pacific music publishing business in the mid-90's. Loiterton also founded Gogo.com in 1999, a 360 degree online music company pioneering online A&R, artist communities and CRM. In 2002, he joined Universal Music to run their strategic marketing & sales across Asia, including catalogue, brand partnerships, and new format development. He joined the Omnifone team in October 2006.
